About Us
Nurtaz Foundation is a registered charity enriching the lives of those we serve in the underprivileged rural communities. Every year hundreds of families and individuals turn to us for support for housing, clothing, access to food, education and other essentials of life. By closely collaborating with the community partners, participants, volunteers, and members, we are able to quickly identify emerging community needs and respond with meaningful and innovative programs to fill the gaps and needs.
The story of NurTaz Foundation
NurTaz Foundation was estabslished in 2020 by Nurul Islam, his wife Momtaz Begum and their five children and named after them; Nur from Nurul and Taz from Momtaz. Nurul and Momtaz are philanthropists who believe that charity does not make you poor, it makes you richer. They also believe that a little share and a little care can enrich a community and can help build a stronger society. Throughout their lives, they have strived to help people in need with whatever little they had and not to return a single person empty handed. Hence, Nurul, Momtaz and their children founded NurTaz Foundation to help shape their hopes and dreams and so their legacy continues for generations to come.
ON our initial journey, we have tried to identify the socio-economic impact of Covid-19 pandemic in the remote and under-privileged village communities we close work with and took initiatives to provide funds to capable men and women who lost source of income and were looking for immediate financial assistance to start over. We also identified several other sectors in those villages which required immediate attention and assistance like elderly people who don’t have a support system and deprived of basic health care, medicine and food; youth and orphans although having potential yet failing to pursue their dreams; families living in broken homes with no shades to over them from rain or sun; destitute women who require empowerment to stand on their own feet and turn to financial contributor and so on. Over the years, we have strived to address these issues with release of small funds where required and expand our programs to more villages and more communities.
